Police Blotter: Package, Christmas Decoration Stolen

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 26: After being stopped for a motor vehicle violation, Byron Arriola of Princeton was arrested on an outstanding South Brunswick warrant. Arriola was processed and released after posting $114 bail

Nov. 28: Adnan Maqsood, 19, of Union was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle during a traffic stop on the 800 block of South Avenue. He was released on his own recognizance with a court date of Dec. 6.

Nov. 30: A resident of the 300 block of Vernon Place reported the theft of a package delivered by UPS. The package was taken from the front porch of the residence and contained clothing valued at $60 and was delivered after 7 p.m. on November 29.

A Lawrenceville resident reported that his motor vehicle was damaged while parked on Landsdowne Avenue near Boulevard. An unknown suspect damaged the rear door handle on his 2010 Hyundai. The suspect did not gain entry to the vehicle.

Dec. 1: A resident of the 300 block of Dudley Avenue reported that an unknown suspect gained entry to the residence. A check of the premises showed no items taken and no signs of forced entry.

A resident of the 100 block of Golf Edge reported being the victim of a theft. An unknown suspect removed a Christmas decoration from the front lawn. It was valued at approximately $200.

Adira Folk, 20, of Newark was arrested on an outstanding Elizabeth warrant for $87 pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Folk was processed and released after posting bail.

Ribin Charles, 35, of Irvington was arrested on an outstanding Irvington warrant for $500 pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Charles was processed and released on his own recognizance with a future court date.

Dec. 2: Dyron A. White, 23, of Roselle was arrested during a motor vehicle stop in the area of South and Summit Avenues on an outstanding Roselle traffic warrant in the amount of $100. White was transported to Westfield police headquarters, processed and released after posting $100 cash bail. 

Dec. 3: Terrence J. Shaw, 47, of Elizabeth was arrested at East Brunswick Police Department on an outstanding Westfield warrant. Shaw was transported to the WPD, processed and released after posting bail.

Dec. 5: James Iorio, 44, of Westfield, was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) following a motor vehicle stop at South and Central Avenues. Iorio was released to a sober adult.
