Westfield Police last week arrested three suspects in the December 17 robbery near the South Avenue train station parking lot.

Samuel Cavanaugh, 18, of Cranford and two minors from Cranford were charged with robbery in the incident. An adult male was walking shortly before 6 p.m. on the 17th on the pathway behind Midas on South Avenue connecting to the train station parking lot from the traffic. He reported he was jumped and robbed.

A robbery in Cranford was reported to have taken place near Hampton Park, near Cranford High School, at 8:38 p.m, on January 2,  according to the Cranford Police Department. Police reports say three males approached a 16-year-old Cranford resident from behind in a light colored or white vehicle, then physically assaulted the victim and stole the victim's belongings. The victim fled the scene on foot and contacted police. He was treated by the Cranford First Aid Squad and transported to a local emergency room for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
