Over $31,000 in Jewelry Stolen in Two Residential Thefts

One house reports expensive pair of earrings stolen.

Two residential thefts in town yielded over $31,000 in stolen merchandise.

On Oct. 13, a resident of the 400 block of Elm Street reported the apparent theft of a $31,000 pair of earrings from the home. There were no signs of forced entry to the house and the matter is currently being investigated by the detective bureau.

On Oct. 1, a resident of the 100 block of Effingham Place reported the theft of a series of small jewelry pieces from their house. The items included one pair of large gold hoop earrings valued at $250, one pair of small gold hoop earrings valued at $200, one gold wedding band valued at $999, one white gold necklace with diamonds valued at $1,000 and one white gold pendant valued at $500. The matter remains under investigation by the detective bureau.
