Man Threatens Driver With Bat In Road Rage Incident, Police Say

Westfield man charged with making terroristic threats and unlawful possession of a weapon for Raritan Road incident.

A Westfield man was arrested last Sunday for threatening to beat another driver with a baseball bat, according to Westfield Police Capt. Scott Rodger.

Wayne Augenstein, 66, got into a verbal argument with another driver about who had the right of way on Raritan Road in Clark, Rodger said.

Augenstein was charged with making terroristic threats and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to police.

Augenstein took out a baseball bat, cursed and threatened to beat the other drive with it, Rodger added.

Augenstein was taken to Westfield Police headquarters, processed and released on bail.
