Man Struck by Two Vehicles on Central Avenue

A 61-year-old man was hit Monday by a northbound traveling vehicle and a southbound car near intersection of Laurel Place.

Two vehicles struck a 61-year-old male at Central Avenue at Laurel Place Monday evening, Westfield Police Chief David Wayman said.

The man, whose name was not released, was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound and then a southbound vehicle on Central Avenue Monday at about 5:35 p.m., Wayman said.

According to Wayman, the man was transported to Morristown Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Information on the drivers could not be released as the accident is under investigation, Wayman added.

This is the second pedestrian hit by a car in Westfield within the last week. On Halloween evening, a young girl was also struck by a car on Dudley Avenue. She was transported to University Hospital, where she was treated and released, according to Capt. Scott Rodger.
