Knifepoint Robbery Remains Under Investigation

The incident occurred in broad daylight last month.

Detectives are still investigating an armed robbery in broad daylight on Rahway Avenue last month, according to Westfield Police.

No further information is available due to the ongoing investigation, Capt. Scott Rodgers said.

On Sept. 12 at approximately 3 p.m., a man approached the victim on the 700 block of Rahway Avenue, demanded his wallet and displayed a knife, the victim told police. There was no cash or valuables in the wallet, police said. The robber then ran northbound on Rahway Avenue. A search for the bandit was unsuccessful.

The robber was described as a while male, about 5-foot-10 with an average build who was wearing a red bandana over his face, a dark green hooded sweatshirt with a neon yellow design, the report released following the incident stated.
