Golf Edge Drive Burglary Under Investigation

No one was at home at the time of the break-in, according to Westfield Police Capt. Scott Rodger.

The Westfield Police Department is investigating the burglary of a residence on Golf Edge Drive that took place between 4:30 and 11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18.

The homeowner reported that he was approached by a solicitor who was selling windows that afternoon. Shortly after, he left his home and upon return found that someone had broken into the residence through a window. A laptop and some costume jewelry were taken, according to Capt. Scott Rodger. The exact value of the items is not known at this time. No one was at home at the time of the break-in.

Rodger said while the resident believes the solicitor may have had something to do with the burglary, there is "no direct correlation" nor is there "a definitive suspect" at this time. Police are investigating all possibilities, he stated.
