There have been a series of burglaries in Westfield over the last year. Many have been centered in the Gardens neighborhood and in portions of the south side, including those close to roads leading to Route 22 and the Garden State Parkway.

Police have been working with neighboring departments on the crimes and are part of a task force with other communities along the Route 22 corridor to investigate the crimes. The Union County prosecutor's office announced last year that arrests had been made in several burglaries.
