Failure To Stop, Careless Driving Summonses Issued in Fatal Westfield Crash

Police issue summonses to the 24-year old driver who hit two pedestrians on Feb. 2, according to a report on NJ.com.

Jason Lutz, 24, of Westfield has been issued summonses in connection to the fatal Feb. 2 crash that resulted in the death of Donna Rothstein, 63, of Westfield. 

Lutz was issued two summonses for failure to stop and two summonses for careless driving, according to Westfield Police Capt. Scott Rodger, who was quoted in a report on NJ.com.

On that Sunday, Lutz's Land Rover hit both Bruce and Donna Rothstein as they were walking through the intersection of Prospect Street and Cowperthwaite Place. Bruce Rothstein, 62, suffered minor injuries; Donna Rothstein died of her injuries on Feb. 5. 

A toxicology report by the Union County Prosecutor is pending, according to the Westfield Leader.
