Attempted Burglary on Minisink Way Thursday

Nothing in the house was disturbed.

There was an attempted burglary at a house on the 900 block of Minisink Way Thursday evening.

Police Captain Clifford Autcher said that a window adjacent to a door was found to be broken on the home. An investigation showed that nothing in the house had been disturbed. Witnesses in the area at the time did not report seeing anyone enter the home.

The site of the attempted burglary is just off of Lawrence Avenue and near an entrance and exit to Route 22 East. This area of town has suffered a rash of burglaries since late last year. Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow announced last month that his office is investigating a series of burglaries along the Route 22 corridor, connecting them to a group of similar crimes in western Union County.
