A resident of the 1200 block of Boulevard called police on Dec. 12 to report the theft of several pieces of jewelry from the house. The theft occurred between Nov. 21 and Dec. 12.
There were no signs of burglary in the residence and the jewlery is valued at $6,800. The detective bureau will investigate the case.
Under the law, a theft can be defined as a situation where the thief was willingly let into the house by the homeowner and did not forcibly enter the residence as in the case of a burglary. Details are not available in this case.
