A resident of the 100 block of Prospect Street called police on June 14 to report the theft of $52,500 in jewelry from the residence.
The resident said the theft occurred between June 3 and June 8. It is unclear why the report came on June 14 and unclear on how access was gained to the residence.
The matter remains under investigation by the detective bureau.
