$20,000 in Jewelry Taken in Linden Avenue Burglary

The following arrest information was provided by the Westfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Linden Avenue resident reported a burglary to their home last weekend with a report that $20,000 in jewelery was taken from the home.

June 17

A resident of the 500 block of Carleton Road reported the theft of a ceramic horse statue from their front lawn between 11 a.m. on June 15 and 12:30 p.m. on June 17. The value is $100.

A resident of the 400 block of Linden Avenue reported a burglary to their home between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in June 17. The suspect gained entry from a first floor bathroom window and removed four gold and diamond rings valued at $20,000.

June 18

A business on the 300 block of South Avenue reported shoplifting. Surveillance cameras earlier in the day showed a suspect removing approximately $143.96 in merchandise without paying.

June 19

Jabnel V. Bedoya-Torres, 21, of Manwille an Eswer Paredes, 21, of Plainfield were arrested on South Avenue near Center Street in Garwood for possession of cocaine. Bedoya-Torres was also arrested for racing on the highway and driving with a suspended license. The two were arrested after racing down South Avenue. They were processed and released.

June 20

Michael Linford, 20, of Edison was arrested on a $247 Fanwood warrant. He posted bail and was released.

Officers discovered graffiti on the rear of a business on the 200 block of South Avenue East.

June 21

Jilus C. Grady, 19, of Linden was arrested during a traffic stop on a $380 Elizabeth warrant and a $81 Fanwood warrant. He was processed and released after posting bail.

June 22

A resident of the 400 block of Everson Street reported that his car was burglarized and a wallet with credit cards was taken. The credit cards were used.

A resident of the 600 block of Summit Avenue reported a burglary to her car.

David Bumbera, 56, of Lakewood was arrested on a $283 Lakewood warrant following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released.

A resident of the 200 block of East Dudley Road reported the theft of a boys BMX style Magna Rip Claw 20 inch bike that is orange and black in color. The bike was taken from the front yard where it was left unattended and unsecured.
