For Scotch Plains/
Hope you can fit this in this week!!!!
I crashed a party today, a great party at The Tavern in Scotch Plains. I am a former Westfield resident and am in town visiting old pals in the area. I was told my friends, Bob and Diane Coloney, were hosting a golf outing at Ash Brook and a post luncheon/party benefiting their wonderful charity, Children’s Network for Hope, in Scotch Plains. I wasn’t invited; it was spur of the moment; I just walked into The Tavern and there they were – as kind and courteous as ever with their wonderful sponsors, their friends and volunteers – especially Kip Brindle, Rich Kenyon and my new pal, Paul “Blackie” Mellen – among many others. As in the past, when they ran the Center for Hope Hospice, I felt so good about myself just being there – this time to support children and families in need. Everyone was smiling. Guys, you have helped so many, especially my personal friends here and in Jersey City with your past hospice efforts. Now, I wish you all the best with the new Children’s Network for Hope. Keep up the good work and God Bless and thank you all! Barbara Swab, Former Westfield Resident, Asheville, NC.
