Westfield Native, Christine Materia (Colapietro), Dies at 82
Materia was born and raised in Westfield and later moved to Garwood.

Christine Materia (Colapietro), 82, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, surrounded by her loving family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Thursday, Jan. 30th from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Anne in Garwood on Friday, Jan. 31st at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
Born and raised in Westfield, NJ, Christine lived in Garwood since 1959. She was a life member of the Church of St. Anne and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Christine was the loving wife of the late Paul Materia, Jr., who died in 2009.
She was also the beloved mother of Glenn Materia, William Materia and his wife Valerie, Roseann Marcella and her husband Robert, and Paul Materia III and his wife Pamela. She was also the loving sister of Madeline Ayres and the late Thomas Colapietro, Rae Clevenger, Mary Colapietro and James Colapietro.
She was the devoted grandmother "Grams" of Dawn, Crystal, Robert (Jen), Paul IV (Sarah), William, Jr. (Stephanie), Brian (Rosalind), Jennifer, Joseph, Micheal, Andrew (Nicole), Kelly and great-grandmother to Anthony and Charlotte.
