Westfield Mourns Longtime Resident Rosemarie M. Gilman

A celebration of life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rosemarie Gilman (nee Evangelista), 85, a longtime resident of Westfield, died Friday, June 21.

The following obituary was shared by the Westfield Art Association:

Rosemarie's Life Celebration will be 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26th, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27th at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad St. Westfield, followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ.

Her Service of Remembrance will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday June 27th, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church 1 E. Broad St. Westfield, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was a retired secretary from the Papermill Playhouse, Millburn, and had a great love of music and the arts. Rosemarie was a singer, a piano player and an artist who had many of her paintings on display in her home. 

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her loving husband William, her parents Louis and Gilda Evangelista, her sister Aida Evangelista Alfieri and her brother Henry "Hank" Evangelista. She is survived by her nephews Frank M. Alfieri of Avenel, NJ, Stephen L. Alfieri and his wife Ann Marie of Jackson, NJ, Ron V. Alfieri of Colts Neck, NJ, Great-Nephew Frank M. Alfieri Jr., Brittany R. Alfieri, Gina M. Alfieri, Nephew-in-law Gerald Mulkeen and his wife Michelle and many more nieces and nephews of the Gilman Family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Westfield, NJ.
