Summit Native Jeffrey Corzine, Former Governor's Son, Faced 'Addiction, Depression'

Jeffrey Dougherty Corzine, 31, passed away on March 10, 2014 in Puebla, Mexico. His passing is deeply mourned by his parents, Joanne Brown and Jon Corzine, his sister, Jennifer Pisani, his brother, Joshua Corzine, and five doted upon nieces and nephews. Jeffrey’s immediate family, including his step-parents, Sharon Corzine and Harmon Brown, are joined in their sorrow by an extended group of family and friends whose lives he touched.

Jeffrey lived most of his adult life in Malibu, California where he was an active member, sponsor and counselor in the Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) community. He devoted much of his time to helping others overcome the challenges he had faced of addiction, depression and recovery. Many in the A.A. community have expressed that Jeffrey’s passion and loving efforts brought hope and change to their lives. Jeffrey also was an aspiring creative photographer and writer. His body of work will bring pleasure and hope to admirers in the future.

Jeffrey was born in Summit, New Jersey and lived there through his childhood. He graduated from the Pomfret School in Connecticut and then went on to receive a B.A. in History from NYU. He also attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California.

Jeffrey’s generosity, spirit of service to others and creative works will be an inspiration to many. To honor his life, charitable contributions may be made in Jeffrey’s name to:
