Obituary: Louis Franz of Westfield, a WWII Veteran

An Army Air Corp veteran in WWII, he worked at Singer Sewing Machine in Elizabeth for over 40 years.

Louis Franz, 94, died peacefully on March 2, 2014 in Westfield, NJ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 4 to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave, Westfield, NJ.

A Mass will be offered at St. Joseph the Carpenter RC Church in Roselle, NJ on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10 AM. Burial to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Louis was married to his beloved wife, Barbara for 25 years before her passing in 1969. Together they raised two boys, Richard and Edward.

Louis was a veteran of the Army Air Corp serving in the Pacific until his discharge in 1946. He worked at Singer Sewing Machine in Elizabeth for over 40 years before retiring.

Louis is survived by his sons, Richard and Edward, his daughters-in-law, Margaret Franz and Kim Franz and his grandchildren, Travis and Kathryn.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Atlantic Hospice, 465 South Street, Suite 100, Morristown, NJ in his loving memory.
