Former Westfield Bookkeeper, Millie Monroe, Dies at 78

Monroe was born and raised in Westfield and later moved to Scotch Plains and Summit before settling in Bethlehem Township, PA.

Millie Monroe (nee Mazza), 78 passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Millie was born and raised in Westfield and later resided in Scotch Plains and Summit before moving to Bethlehem Township, PA in 2006.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Tiffany Drugs in Westfield and later worked for Commerce Clearing House in Clark where she retired from several years ago.

She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States but her true love was spending time with her children and grandchildren vacationing at Ocean Beach, NJ.

Millie is survived by her partner of 26 years, Ray Leto; three daughters, Terri Glassett and husband, Mike of Scotch Plains, NJ, Valerie Kloss of Scotch Plains and Nancy Yarmolowicz of Brick, NJ; her son, Doug Monroe and his wife, Nancy of Annandale, NJ; brothers and sisters, Tony Mazza, Charlie Mazza and Eleanor Alimonti.  She will also be also missed by her grandchildren; Brian Glassett, Matthew Glassett and Cara Yarmolowicz.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
