CBS News Reporter and Westfield Native Dies at 73

Bruce Dunning grew up in Westfield and lived most recently in Union City.

Bruce Dunning, a Westfield native and CBS News reporter best known for his 1975 coverage of a last-ditch attempt to rescue refugees out of Vietnam, has died, according to NJ.com.

Dunning, 73, died at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan from injuries sustained in a fall.

A graduate of Princeton University, he retired from CBS in 2005 and most recently lived in Union City.
