We love the idea of bringing memories to the Thanksgiving table with mementos and old family photos, as seen in this table setting (center photo from Country Living). As an alternative to place cards, tuck old photos into place card holders.
Optimize space on the crowded Thanksgiving table with small floral arrangements at each place setting, using family heirlooms that wouldn't traditionally contain flowers. Cordial glasses, silver baby cups, Grandma's china tea cups, or vintage trophy cups add just the right bit of nostalgia.
If you prefer a centerpiece, vintage platters or serving trays lined with fresh moss and piled with small gourds and autumnal leaves are festive and won't obstruct cross-table conversation.
