Why I Love Being a Real Estate Agent

I love my job for so many reasons. Being a real estate agent has allowed me to do the things I have always wanted to do. If you, or someone you know, is interested in getting into real estate, maybe this will inspire you. Here is a quick list of reasons why I really love my job.

I get to work with my friends and family. The most important people in my life are my family and friends – and they can also be my biggest referrals. If one of my family members knows someone selling a house, they will almost always recommend me. The same goes for my close friends. Not only are my friends and family great referrals, but they make great clients too! Whenever one of my friends is ready to sell their home and move into a new one, I am always the first person they call. In these situations, I get to work with the people I love the most!

No work uniform. I have done it in the past, and I hope to never have to do it again. I am talking about wearing a uniform. I am sure there are plenty of people out there that love not having to worry about what to wear for work. I am just not one of those people. I like having the option of wearing whatever outfit I want. Of course, when I go on listing appointments, work in the office, or go on business meetings, I dress professionally. Not having a uniform is definitely a plus!

Real Estate is always a learning experience. Working in real estate allows me to constantly learn new things. When I make mistakes, I learn from them – and I learn how to do it better next time. Every time I meet new people, or sell a new house, I always learn something from it. I can’t even begin to list all the things that I have learned about people and personality types over the last several years.  I have learned how to work with a wide range of different personality types and how to accept everyone for who they are.

Constantly working with and meeting new agents. I consider myself to be an outgoing, friendly person. I absolutely love meeting and talking to new people. Being a real estate agent means that I constantly have to meet and work with other agents. This is a huge bonus for me because I really love working with other people – especially people who have similar interests as me. I don’t work with the same people all the time either; I am constantly meeting new agents and building new relationships.

Helping families make the most important purchase of their life. Its true – buying a home is definitely one of the biggest, most important purchases a family will make. I love that I get to be a part of that process for some families. I understand how difficult it can be to sell a home, and I know how challenging finding the perfect home can be. It makes me happy to know that my skills, connections and experience can help a family find a place to call home for the rest of their lives.
