HTIS Boys Basketball Wins Fr. Whalen Tournament
The Holy Trinity Interparochial School 7th- and 8th-grade boys' varsity basketball team won the Suburban Catholic League's Father Whalen Tournament.
The Holy Trinity Interparochial School 7th- and 8th-grade boys’ varsity basketball team won the Suburban Catholic League’s Father Whalen Tournament.
The HTIS Braves defeated the St. Agnes Ravens, 57-44. Eighth grader George Papas of Plainfield was named the tournament’s MVP.
In addition, George and fellow eighth graders Billy Fitzpatrick of Westfield and David Corrao of Fanwood were named to the league’s All-Star Team.

Six players from the HTIS boys’ junior varsity team were also named as league All Stars: sixth graders Luke Hunziker, Matt Kujawski and Billy Slaski, all of Westfield; and fifth graders Jack Cushing of Westfield, Michael Marano of Rahway, and Sean Wieszczek of Scotch Plains.
