Artist, Maxwell Sang has lived a colorful life. She’s humored, intelligent and doesn’t keep much food in the fridge.
This summer she devoted her artistic prowess to ‘Petals for
Greta’, unveiling 'White Lily' to thirty guests at her home on July 24th. She painted 'White Lily' specifically for the Benefit because it was Greta's favorite flower.
Greta Schoenemann loved art, a bit of gardening and mingling
with a crowd of good people. Saturday, September 7th, these qualities and a summer of diligent
effort converge and come to a celebratory pause; ‘Petals for Greta’ is a means for something Greta loved while she was here, art and friends. As well, it serves a greater good.
20% of each sale from Max’s 25 paintings will be donated to Greta’s Run. ‘White Lily’ (16"x12") valued at $600, will be framed and given away as a door prize.Join us at Swain Galleries in Plainfield, Saturday September 7th at 5pm.
Swain Galleries is located at 703 Watchung Ave. Plainfield. For more information, call 908-756-1707. For more information about Sang and her paintings, visit her website.
Greta's Run is a 5k Run/Walk & Fundraiser founded in memory of Greta Schoenemann, a WHS freshman who died from injuries sustained on 9/11/02 when a tree limb fell on her and a table of friends as they ate lunch. Founded by Greta's childhood friends Ben Nanna and Jayne Ruotolo, all proceeds will benefit new and existing special needs programs at the Westfield Area Y. A gesture that would be close to Greta's heart because her sister Elise has Cerebral Palsy. To learn more about Greta's Run or to register, visit the 5K's website.
