Run for Alli Low Starts at 4 p.m. Today

A suggested donation of $5 will benefit Lowenstein's family.

More than 175 friends and supporters of Allison Lowenstein are expected to come together this afternoon to do one of the things the graduate enjoys most: run. 

In, was hit by a motorist who fled the scene while she was jogging in Harriman State Park, NY. A cross country runner, Lowenstein sustained serious injuries but, according to friends, is on the road to recovery.

To show their love and support for Lowenstein and her family, friends have organized a 'Fun Run for Alli Low.' The event will begin at 4 p.m. this afternoon at  and a $5 donation is suggested. Please make checks payable to "Friends of Westfield Track" for the benefit of Alli and her family.

According to a Facebook page that has been created for today's get together, there will also be an opportunity to buy tickets for some "awesome give-a-way baskets and prizes!"

TIMELINE: 4 p.m.- 7 p.m.

4-5 p.m.: check in, sign the guestbook, leave a video message for Alli 

5-6 p.m.: run run run! Run as much, or as little as you'd like around Tamaques Park. 

6-7 p.m.: Enter for some give-a-ways (amazing gift certificates, and other prizes) and EAT!
