Westfield Earth Day Set for Saturday, April 27

Rain date is set for Sunday, April 28.

The following information appears on the Town of Westfield's website:

In honor of Earth Day, Westfield Mayor Andy Skibitsky the Town Council and the Green Team have teamed up to plan for a “Westfield Earth Day clean-up event at select locations around town on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a rain date of Sunday, April 28.

Volunteers who are willing to give a little time to celebrate Earth Day in this way are asked to bring a pair of gloves (and a rake, if possible) to one of the following locations where a member of the Town Council or Green Team will coordinate clean-up activities:

  • Brightwood Park
  • Clark Park
  • Gumbert Park (behind the ballfields)
  • Maryland Avenue at Grandview Avenue
  • Grove Street at Grandview Avenue
  • Dunham Avenue Bird Sanctuary (meet at 800 block of Summit Avenue)
  • Northside Train Station
  • Southside Train Station
  • Mindowaskin Park (in partnership with the Friends of Mindowaskin Park)


Boy and Girl Scout troops in need of fulfilling community service requirements are welcome (Please keep in mind that all minors do need to be supervised by a parent or adult guardian.) Registration by sending your name and what location you plan to help at via e-mail to Mayor@westfieldnj.gov is requested so that we know how many volunteers to anticipate, but drop-ins will certainly be welcomed too!
