Triwomen 2013 Kickoff Meetings

Come join other local women to learn what's involved with training for a sprint triathlon. Triwomen volunteer leaders provide encouragement, education and inspiration to women of all ages, shapes and sizes in a non-competitive atmosphere

When and where:

Thurs Jan 24 7:30-9:30 at Fanwood Scotch Plains YMCA 1340 Martine Ave, Scotch Plains

Mon Jan 28 7:30-9:30 pm at JCC of Central NJ, 1391 Martine Ave, Scotch Plains (ID required at the door) 

Once you are part of the group, you can attend as many free clinics and groups to get you ready for the ”tri” as you need. We offer clinics and workshops at the Westfield Area Y, the JCC and the FSP YMCA, and the groups meet at local and beach parks. Some examples of upcoming clinics and groups are:

Sat Feb 9 at 2 pm: Fear Factor Swim Clinic:

- Participants will share fears and experiences and the goals of the clinic will be: feeling at home in the water by: Getting comfortable in the water, Learning behavior of body/weightlessness/balance, and more

Tues Feb 19 7:30-9:30: Tri 101 Workshop

- Everything you ever wanted to know about doing a sprint triathlon but were afraid to ask! What to wear, equipment, triathlon vocab, intro to triathlon transitions, how do get started with swim, bike and run!

Saturdays starting March 9 at 9:00 AM: “I Hate Running” group:

- Join other reluctant would be runners to tackle the third leg of the triathlon in good company.
