Polish Christmas Customs

Wesolych swiat!  Bozego Narodzenia!   That is the way to say “Merry Christmas” in Polish.  The most beloved and beautiful of all traditional Polish festivities is that of Christmas Eve.  It is then that the Wigilia, or Christmas Eve dinner is served.

The museum's program includes a presentation on Polish Christmas traditions and activities.  Members of the Cooking Committee will prepare Polish holiday recipes over the open hearth.  Costumed docents will also be available to guide visitors through the 1740 farmhouse.  The gift shop, which carries a variety of colonial toys, crafts, books and educational materials, will be open.
