“For a quarter of a century, Cantor Novick has enriched our lives with the warmth of Jewish tradition and the inspiration of Jewish song. Whether at times of celebration or sadness, she has lifted our spirits and touched our souls. Her knowledge of Jewish music is legendary and her ability to transmit the glory of that tradition is without peer. Personally, my soul is always stirred when Martha sings Ben Steinberg's "Shalom Rav" or invites us to consider our blessings as she chants "Hashkiveinu," said Rabbi Charles A. Kroloff, Vice President for Special Projects of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion; Rabbi Emeritus, Temple Emanu-El, Westfield, NJ.
