A Night For Danny Maglione

On March 27th, 2010, Temple Emanu-el will host A Night for Firefighter Maglione, a benefit for Westfield Fire Fighter, Daniel Maglione. 

Three months ago, Firefighter Maglione was diagnosed with Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP).  CUP is a rare diagnosis that approximately 2-4% of cancer patients' face.  He is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy through Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.  The event is being organized by the Westfield FMBA Local #30.  All proceeds will go toward Daniel and the Maglione family to support their battle with the disease.
 
Daniel is a devoted husband and father of two daughters, ages 13 & 11. Firefighter Maglione is and has always been a dedicated member of the community.  He worked two years as a Westfield Police Dispatcher, and he also served as a Westfield Auxiliary Police Officer as well as a member of the Westfield Rescue Squad.  In addition, he has provided11 years of service as a member of the Westfield Fire Department.  Daniel has also volunteered many years as a coach of the Piscataway High School Football team and as a coach to his daughter's soccer and softball teams.
