2n Annual 5k in Bloomfield to Benefit CPNJ

Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey (CPNJ) is having its second annual “Expand Your Horizons” 5k Run/Walk at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield on April 28, 2012 at 10 am.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the agency’s Horizon High School, which serves more than 80 students with multiple disabilities from throughout northern New Jersey, including students from Westfield.

Last year’s event attracted more than 300 runners from throughout the region and even more are expected this year.  “We are hopeful that folks will again come out and support this important event,” said Horizon High School principal Christopher Lynch.  “The funds we raise from the 5k are used to purchase items like therapy equipment and specialized interactive technology.  This is a chance to impact the lives of children so we hope to have a great turnout.”

The registration fee for the run is $25 (and $10 for the one-mile Fun Run).  You can register online at www.active.com and search for “Expand Your Horizons” or by going to www.cpnj.org and clicking on events.  You can also call (973) 535-1999.  All are welcome.
