Greater Raritan Workforce Investment Board Appointments Susan M. Brooks, CEO, Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey

Susan M. Brooks, CEO, Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ), has been appointed to the Greater Raritan Workforce Investment Board (GRWIB) through a nomination by Somerset County Freeholder Patricia L. Walsh, Board of Chosen Freeholders of Somerset County.  Susan's term commenced June 26th and runs through December 31, 2014.

The Greater Raritan Workforce Investment Board (GRWIB) is a public/private partnership, formed through the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The federal legislation created Workforce Investment Boards (WIBS) throughout the country to enable the workforce development system to be demand driven and responsive to the needs of employers and workers.

Jointly formed by the Freeholders of Somerset and Hunterdon counties GRWIB’s mission is to serve all customers of the workforce readiness system in Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

Susan also serves on the Champion’s Board for the Garden State Girls STEM Collaborative Project (the New Jersey offshoot of the National Girls STEM collaborative Project), the Goodwill Works! Advisory Board, and was named a 2012 Garden State Woman for Youth Leadership.

Susan has been instrumental in building and leading a high-capacity council that is delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls in Hunterdon, Somerset, Union, Essex, Hudson, and portions of Warren and Middlesex counties.
