Farmstead Players to read three Irish one-act plays

Three one-acts, Land of Hearts Desire, The Countess Cathleen and Cathleen Ni Houlihan  by William Butler Yeats, Irish poet, playwright and statesman will be directed by William Ward. Readers are: Alan Gershenson, Catie Shelley, David Neal, Ed Schroeder, Elizabeth Buckley,  Joel Redmount, Juliet Brines, Lisa Black, NJ McBride-Wallace, Pat Busch, Peter Curley, Mary Jane Walsh and William Ward.  Yeats (1865 – 1939), a driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival and founder of the Abbey Theatre, won the Noble Prize for literature in 1923.  

The Farmstead Players’ public monthly
reading series is free, but contributions are gratefully accepted. The reading
on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 is Shakespeare’s The
Tempest.
