Westfield Spring Fling 2013
The 19th annual Spring Fling will take place on Sunday, May 5th, from 10 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in downtown Westfield (rain or shine), on East Broad, Elm, and Prospect Streets. With approximately 300 local merchants and 20 food booths, the atmosphere will be abuzz with good reminders of how we can all buy local. Entertainment is always delivered at Spring Fling, with a bandstand, rides, and games. And you can count on certain traditions, such as The New Jersey Workshop for the Arts' ongoing performances, set up in front of their music studio. Adjacent to the tents and booths, many of our beautiful downtown Westfield storefronts are open for business. Don’t forget to stroll in, especially if it’s been a while since you’ve been in to see what’s new!
Arrive early, as many of the vendors give out free things and provide street fair attendees a chance to win prizes. And, while in the spirit of giving, don’t forget to stop by some of the booths that represent good causes (that sledgehammer was the perfect example!).
More than 45,000 visitors are expected to attend. Because several streets will be closed for the day, parking is recommended in the municipal lots. Many of us who live in Westfield just make a nice walk of it, leaving the cars at home.
