Meet Children's Picture Book Author Ken Schwarz

Meet Ken Schwarz, author of the children’s picture book, The Happy Spacehip on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 PM. Bright and colorful, The Happy Spaceship tells the simple story of three young boys who dream of flying in a spaceship so they plan and build their own from household items allowing their imaginations to take them to the places they have dreamt of.  This book is based on the author’s childhood memories growing up in a small town in the 1950's.  Times were simpler then and boyhood dreams of space travel lived only in their hearts and minds.

Kenneth Schwarz is a Graphic Artist and Teacher.  He is a graduate of the duCret School of Art, Plainfield, NJ. Ken also attended Kean University and Marywood University for post graduate studies in Graphic Design and Teacher Certification on the post secondary level.  He is the former principal of KS Creative Art Services and recently retired as a Graphic Communications coordinator at Somerset County Technology Institute (now Raritan Valley Community College). He currently illustrates and paints and teaches part time at the duCret School of Art.
