Breaking Through Tradition
The Pierro Gallery in South Orange, NJ, presents Breaking Through Tradition, a group show celebrating the American cultural transition towards inclusivity. The exhibition features the work of fourteen regional artists and will be on view April 3 through May 3, 2014.
In it, curators Maureen Harrison and Alexsandra Simakowicz, delve into the ways American society is becoming more socially accepting than it was just decades ago. Changes of this magnitude impact the way people encounter both everyday social interactions and the greater world around them. Public reactions to these transitions vary between praise and outrage. The artists showcased in Breaking Through Tradition use their unique talents and mediums to demonstrate the depth of the exhibition’s theme; social change in America.
