Oliveira Defeats Sontz By 80 Votes, Westfield Council Now All Republican

David Oliveira and incumbent, Keith Loughlin are Westfield's newest council members.


Republican David Oliveira and incumbent Keith Loughlin were elected to Westfield’s council, according to results from the clerk’s office.

Oliveira will be representing the third ward, while Loughlin will continue to represent the Fourth Ward.

Updated: The results show that Oliveira received 1,168 votes over opponent Matthew Sontz, who received 1,088. Loughlin received 1,294 votes, while his opponent former council member, Jack Walsh, received 1,015 votes. These results include mail-in ballots.

Uncontested candidate Sam Del Ferra will continue to serve the First Ward and uncontested candidate Vicki Kimmins will serve again for the second ward.

Andy Skibitsky was re-elected as Westfield’s mayor for a third term after defeating councilman David Haas 1,000 votes. The Westfield council is now all of the Republican Party.
