WHS Students Build Massive Snowman

Snow sculpture towers over Summit Avenue

A quartet of Westfield High School students turned Friday's snow day into a giant arts and crafts project.

The group transformed the Bergin family's front lawn at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Clover Street into a scene of an over 12 foot tall snow man. Patrick Bergin, Dominick Molinari, John Perrotta and Justin White started work on the project Friday morning, gathering snow and putting plans together.

The work continued through the day, with parents providing pizza and hot chocolate to keep the teens going on the project. At points the group was working to lift large amounts of snow several feet in the air to continue getting the project in place for the weekend. The work came to an end at 11 p.m. on Friday night.
