The Westfield Board of Education announced that it , www.westfieldnjk12.org/bond2012, regarding the September 24 special election. The site includes a summary of the bond proposal, Q&A, voting information and more.

Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi announced that Vote-By-Mail ballots for the Westfield BOE's upcoming Special Election will be available beginning on Tuesday, September 4, through the County Clerk’s Westfield or Elizabeth offices. For more information, visit the Board's newly created website.

54, of Westfield, is attending the Republican National Convention later this month to support presidential candidate Mitt Romney, whom he believes has the experience "to address the country's fiscal crisis by downsizing government, reforming the tax code and reducing the federal deficit." Palatucci said he is looking forward to a "great time" in Tampa, Fl. where he will listen to his close friend and former law partner Gov. Chris Christie deliver the keynote address.

Nine-year-old will offer lemonade and chocolate chip cookies from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19 at Kiehl's at the Mall at Short Hills in exchange for donations to benefit St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center.

Patch spoke with Westfield schools' Language Arts supervisor for Kindergarten through grade five. The new program takes a reading and writing workshop approach that Harrison believes will create uniformity throughout the district while allowing students greater autonomy.
