The following is a press release:
Westfield native and New York City traffic-reporting icon Joe Nolan has joined ParkingTicket.com as the company's official spokesperson, it was announced today by company president and New York City parking Guru Glen Bolofsky.
Nolan, known to television viewers and radio listeners as New York City's foremost traffic and transit reporter, via WABC-TV, Metro Traffic Control and numerous radio stations, will voice radio commercials, conduct interviews on behalf of ParkingTicket.com and will be featured prominently on the company Web site.
ParkingTicket.com is the nation's only Web service that helps individuals in cities throughout the U.S. fight their parking tickets. The company is also known for speaking out on behalf of those who are too often the victims of confusing, arbitrary and sometimes contradictory parking regulations that cost motorists millions of dollars in unnecessary fines.
"It's a perfect fit," said Nolan. "I've been helping people navigate the streets of New York City since 1979 and I'm proud be lending a hand to ParkingTicket.com which puts up a fight for the average Joe, the man or woman who's put in the often difficult position of driving AND parking, two of the most challenging things New Yorkers can attempt."
Said Glen Bolofsky, "Joe will be an invaluable help to us in getting the word out to our loyal customers that they don't have to take parking tickets lying down. They can let us help them fight their tickets so they're not victimized by unfair ticket-writing practices and a costly system that emphasizes volume over accuracy at a cost of $800 million annually."
Joe Nolan can be seen daily on WABC-TV's Eyewitness News First at 4:00 and on Eyewitness News at 5:00PM reporting traffic and transit conditions on the New York area's busy streets.
A New Jersey native, Joe has been a traffic reporter on radio and television in the New York metropolitan area since 1979. He joined Metro Traffic Control when it opened in New York in 1988. His afternoon traffic reports are heard on ESPN radio and he is the stadium voice of the New York Jets and Rutgers football.
Joe is active with several charities and hospitals throughout New Jersey, including The Make a Wish Foundation of New Jersey, St. Barnabas Medical Center and Somerset Medical Center. The father of two sons, Brad and Conor, Nolan is a graduate of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
