Trick-or-Treating in Westfield Postponed Thanks to Sandy

The Town is asking that residents stay at home for their own safety.

For the second year in a row Halloween has been postponed due to extreme weather conditions.

Last year a surprise snowstorm crippled the Northeast and this week the aftermath of Huricane Sandy has left Westfield residents with many fallen trees and downed wires, making it unsafe for trick-or-treating.

On the Town of Westfield's Twitter account, at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, the Town issued this message: "Due to the lingering effets of the storm and safety concerns, Halloween Trick or Treat activities are postponed until further notice."
