The Week Ahead: Meetings, Auditions, Holiday Concerts

What's happening this week in Westfield?

Monday:

Tiffany Natural Pharmacy will be accepting donations on behalf of the NJSPCA.  For a list of desired items, click here. The NJSPCA is a full-service Humane Society that cares for hundreds of animals each year. They are also a Not-For-Profit organization and receive no federal, state or local funding.  They are able to provide the animals and their volunteers with products and services from fines that they have collected as a result of successfully prosecuting animal abusers and donations that are made by the public.

A planning board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.

Westfield Community Players announces auditions for its March, 2013 production the Pulitzer Prize Award winning play by David Auburn to be directed by Steve Lemenille and produced by Sally Brown. Auditions begin at 7 p.m. and will be held again on Tuesday at the same time.

The Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce's Monthly Complimentary Open-Networking Breakfast takes place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Bohemian Raspberry. Gather with business professionals from the surrounding towns for COMPLIMENTARY gourmet coffee and light breakfast fare.

Wednesday:

Westfield school district's holiday concert season begins. Check back with Patch Tuesday for a schedule of upcoming performances.

Thursday:

A free workshop for parents at caregivers will be held at 6 p.m. at located at 233 Prospect Street, Westfield NJ, 07090. Topics include:

What you should (and shouldn’t) tell your kids ?

What behaviors should you be concerned about?

How do you help them cope and feel safe?

Friday:

The Presbyterian Church in Westfield will host its bible study meeting from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Westfield Recreation presents THE “UNDERGROUND” (a.k.a- The Teen Center) on Friday nights. From 7 to 11 p.m., the event is held literally, underground, in the basement of the Municipal Building Recreation Center. Teens can play a game of pool at one of the three pool tables, keep their ping-pong skills in check, play some video games, watch a movie, or listen to their favorite music.

Looking Ahead:

See how your neighbors have decked their halls by taking part in Westfield's "Home for the Holidays" Home Tour on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Greyhound Friends of NJ will host the 16th Annual Craft Show & Pet Expo on Saturday. The event was rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy.
