The Week Ahead: Urban Outfitters Opens, WHS Presents Holiday Concert

What's happening this week in Westfield?

The Town of Westfield is pleased to offer complimentary parking in metered spots on streets and in lots now through Dec. 26.

Monday:

Open registration at the Westfield Y begins at 7:30 a.m. Monday, 12/17 for Program and Non Members.  Session start date changed to January 6 (from January 2).  The printable Winter Session Guide is now available.

Tuesday:

An Advent Service will begin at 7 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Westfield.

Wednesday:

Westfield senior citizens are once again invited to the final rehearsal of Westfield High School’s Winter Choral Concert. The rehearsal will take place in the school’s auditorium from 11 a.m.  – 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Westfield High School is located at 550 Dorian Road. 

Thursday:

Urban Outfitters will open its newest store in downtown Westfield. Best known for selling men's and women's apparel in addition to a wide selection of quirky gift items and home furnishings, the store, at 154 E. Broad St., will fill a near-five-year vacancy at the corner of Elm and East Broad Streets. 

The Westfield High School Choral Department invites the community to its free winter concert, at 7pm on Thursday, December 20, at the Westfield High School Auditorium. 

Jeffrey's of Westfield welcomes back singer/songwriter Vaughn Henry Smith from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. 

Friday:

The Presbyterian Church in Westfield will host its bible study meeting from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

S.O.S. Survivors of Sandy: FREE Support Group continues every Friday 12 to 2 p.m. We will provide a warm “Emotional Blanket” and safe place to relax, talk if you want or just listen. Share your story and enjoy the comfort of others. ALL ARE WELCOME

Westfield Recreation presents THE “UNDERGROUND” (a.k.a- The Teen Center) on Friday nights. From 7 to 11 p.m., the event is held literally, underground, in the basement of the Municipal Building Recreation Center. Teens can play a game of pool at one of the three pool tables, keep their ping-pong skills in check, play some video games, watch a movie, or listen to their favorite music.
