What's happening in Westfield this week?

Monday:

Due to extensive power outages in Westfield, the Westfield Memorial Library, which would normally be closed in honor of Veterans Day, will have special hours today and open from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Presbyterian Church in Westfield hosts a weekly Searching for Work group in the church's Jim Cole Room on Tuesday mornings from 9am to 11am. The group is for those searching for work and membership is open to everyone in the Westfield community. The group offers support in the searching for work process and allows for networking and the sharing of job search information.

The Westfield Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 302 Elm St. To view the Board's agenda, click here and then click on the agenda document marked 11/13/12.

Wednesday:

The Board of Adjustment will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building. 

Thursday:

Imagine a Center for Coping With Loss will host its first "i Remember" evening to coincide with National Children's Grief Awareness Day from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Please join Imagine as attendees remember the people in our lives that have died, and celebrate the resilience and healing of those who grieve. This non-denominational event is open to any family or individual in the community. The evening includes a community art project and memorial service followed by delicous home baked goodies and refreshments.

Westfield High School will host College Night from 7 to 9 p.m. at WHS.

Friday:

The Presbyterian Church in Westfield will host its bible study meeting from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Westfield Recreation presents THE “UNDERGROUND” (a.k.a- The Teen Center) on Friday nights. From 7 to 11 p.m., the event is held literally, underground, in the basement of the Municipal Building Recreation Center. Teens can play a game of pool at one of the three pool tables, keep their ping-pong skills in check, play some video games, watch a movie, or listen to their favorite music.

The comedy ‘Get Smart!’ is being presented by a cast of over 30 Westfield students and a crew of 20 at Roosevelt Middle School on Friday and Saturday, November 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 18 at 2 p.m. 

Looking Ahead:

Fairly traded foods and an eclectic collection of handmade pieces will be offered for sale on Nov. 17 and 18, 2012 at the annual Fair Trade Sale sponsored by The Peace and Justice Committee of Holy Trinity and St. Helen’s, the two Roman Catholic communities in Westfield. 

The Coffee With Conscience Concert Series continues its 13th season by presenting the amazing and powerful The concert will take place on Saturday, November 17th, at the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, 1 East Broad Street (corner of North Avenue) in Westfield. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $19.00 on line and $23.00 at the door.
