Five Things You Need to Know for March 4, 2011

Five things you need to know this week.

1) The Recreation Department is sponsoring the annual Daddy-Daughter Dance from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at L'Affaire on Rt. 22 in Mountainside. The cost of the event is $50 at the door and it is open to girls from first to sixth grade.

2) The Roosevelt Intermediate School musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" debuts tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

3) Tot's Story Time at the Memorial Library from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

4) Today is the 482nd anniversary of a royal charter being granted to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, the 222nd anniversary of the first meeting of the U.S. Congress, the 78th anniversary of Labor Secretary Frances Perkins becoming the first woman to serve in a president's cabinet and the day of presidential inagurations through 1933.

5) March is Music in our Schools Month, National Craft Month, National Frozen Food Month, National Peanut Month and Red Cross Month.
