John Esposito, WHS '88, loved growing up in Westfield- He graduated from Georgetown and then got his MBA from Columbia. He  was doing marketing at IBM and decided he was done and wanted to do his own thing- Kind of a Jerry Macguire moment!  So, in 2006 he opened, - with a friend-  Truman's Gentleman's Groomers. It  was created by  professional men who grew tired of going to female-centric salons in search of a worthy haircut. They wanted classic services like shaves, shoe shines, and massage at a place where the client was the most important person in the room and the service was provided without an attitude.Their collective vision bred an entirely novel grooming experience. The Truman's client can expect to be treated to exceptional service, complimentary beverages, and beyond all, quality care.  They offer barbering and salon services- which includes cuts, shaves, trims, manicure (handshake maintenance), hair coloring, pedicures, shoe shines, waxing, massage, and skin treatments.

"Business is doing real well, we are looking to expand to a 2nd location and aiming to launch our own product line next year," John said. "My favorite memories of WHS were hanging out in the quad and playing football and lacrosse, parties at the Tilyou's and Fizzel's house. Wish I could have moved back to Westfield but lost that battle to my wife so ended up back in her home town, Irvington NY, after living in the city for 14 years. "

JV FIELD HOCKEY TIES ALJ

Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark may be known as a field hockey powerhouse, but the JV Westfield High School team held their own this past Saturday, tieing ALJ 3-3 in the game.

Goals were scored by Sophie Fetter, Hannah St. Lifer and Julia Ceasrine.  Lauren Anzevino and Geena Gao had assists.

"We were proud to tie with such a competitive team," coach Melissa Czerwinski said.

CONGRATULATIONS DAD!

Congratulations to my dad, Dr. Seymour Koslowsky on his recent appointment to the Board of Health! Many may remember him from his long time service on the recreation commission. Good luck in this new role!

Just as a general public service announcement, remember that school is in session and more people are out walking. So watch out as you drive and drive carefully.
