Deaths in Clark, Westfield Bond Rating Downgraded—Tops in Union County Patch News

Clark

on Saturday evening, July 7. The cause of death for the Rolling Hill Way resident has not yet been released.

NJ.com reports that a woman was found dead in a Clark motel on June 21. Stephanie Cunningham, who formerly battled drug addiction, had returned to Union County to testify in a murder trial. Police and prosecutors are awaiting the results of toxicology tests but found no signs of foul play at the scene.

New Providence

Sometime in the overnight hours of July 1 at approximately 4 a.m., unknown actors entered two local businesses by smashing the glass front doors and taking money from the cash registers. The New Providence Detective bureau is investigating these burglaries and encourages anyone with any information to come forward.

Springfield

A Millburn teenager was in critical condition Thursday after she was . Millburn's first aid squad transported the teenager to University Hospital in Newark, where she is in critical but stable condition, Millburn Police Capt. Michael Palardy said. The 18-year-old, who will be a senior at Millburn High School in the fall, was hit in front of the Haagen-Dazs on Millburn Ave. at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Westfield

that the ratings service has lowered its long-term rating from 'AAA' to 'AA+' on the Town of Westfield's existing general obligation bonds based on "the town's deteriorated financial performance."
