The Kind of Politics We Don't Need

Mayor Skibitsky attacked me in a piece of literature distributed this weekend,  that called me a liar, misrepresented facts and twisted a Westfield mother’s letter to the editor without her permission.  He implied that the gun control organization she founded supported him knowing full well that wasn’t the intent of the letter.  This is politics at its worst and not the kind of leadership Westfield needs.  But giving him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he was just misinformed.  In that case Mayor, here are the facts.

The Truth: The Raritan Valley Rail Coalition says Westfield hasn’t paid it’s dues since 2008, Skibitsky’s first year in office.

The Truth: As councilman I  voted against the Mobile Command center on final reading.

The Truth: Everyone on the Council has said we should increase the number of firemen.  Citing facts isn’t fear mongering.

The Truth: I abstained on the Mayors surprise gun control resolution objecting that it was the weakest resolution the town could have passed.  Voting yes would have been putting a band-aid on a major gun wound.  There is no reason the mayor shouldn’t join Mayors against Illegal Guns to help protect our children.  Listen to the audio (above) of the Westfield Mother who's letter to the Leader was misused in Skibitskys flyer.

The Truth: I voiced concerns about the light since it was installed 3 yrs ago and they have grown as the accident data has accumulated. There is no basis for believing that the light isn’t causing accidents.

The Truth: I voted against several Skibitsky budgets because of unnecessary and illegal1 placement of part time political appointees into the pension system as well as Skibitsky’s refusal to accept a virtually free energy audit from the State of NJ
