THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS FOR THE HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF

Thank you from the Family Readiness Group of the 1-102nd Cavalry for your support of the communities of the Jersey Shore.

The Family Readiness Groups of the 1-102nd Cavalry NJ Army National Guard would like to thank the community for their generosity. This week has been amazing. The volunteers, words of support and donations are overwhelming ALL OF US.

We have received and sent out roughly 100 bags of clothing/shoes/blankets, and 125 boxes of toiletries, non-perishables, diapers/wipes, cleaning items, and over the counter medications/items.

We have received items mailed from as far as California.

As of today the items have been sent to Union Beach, Highlands, Keansburg, Lincroft, and Sea Bright. Thank you to all of the many volunteers that sorted and packed. Once the boxes were packed, the Soldiers of the 1-102nd Cavalry would pack their vehicles and drive to the communities they were assisting on their missions.

We are no longer collecting clothing, coats, or blankets. Our focus is mainly cleaning supplies, diapers/wipes, toiletries, non-perishable foods, and the over-the-counter medications we had originally listed.

Our collection will end at the end of next week, but would like to pass along the link to the Jersey Cares website. It will give you up to date information regarding Sandy Relief efforts - and who is requesting what items.  This changes constantly - before you drive anything anywhere try to contact the organization to confirm they are still collecting the items.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
