Home Video Studio Partners with L&B Printing for Marketing Needs

Home Video Studio of Westfield is a true locally-owned business, with most of its customers coming from Union county. So it makes sense that they would use another locally-owned business, L&B Printing in Scotch Plains, to help get the word out about their services.

While HVS’s brightly wrapped logo car is easily spotted on the streets, when owner Dan Weiniger wants to reach new customers, he has L&B Printing coordinate an Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) campaign with the post office.

For only 16 cents postage plus printing costs, HVS sends a postcard to every household on a chosen mail route. Weiniger successfully uses these mailers for open houses, special events and customer appreciation offers. “It’s effective and inexpensive,” Weiniger said. “It has helps me turn my neighbors into customers.” With record crowds at his grand opening and other open houses, Weiniger attributes the turnout to reaching new clients through the EDDM service.

Using EDDM expert Kristy Ball at L&B Printing in Scotch Plains makes it easy. “I just give Kristy the graphic, and she helps me determine the routes to send it to, prints it, and brings the mailers to the post office,” he said. The family-owned business provides great customer service and pricing, and also helps with layout and marketing advice. “Online services don’t look out for you,” Weiniger said. “L&B Printing wants you to succeed, and helps you do that.”

The EDDM program is great for local businesses who want to let neighbors know about their offerings. It’s called saturation marketing, Ball said, and you choose one or more delivery routes, where every household will get your marketing material. While first class stamps cost 49 cents each, the EDDM special rate is only 16 cents.

The EDDM service is so economical because the mailers don’t need to go through the post office machines, and don’t need addressing or mailing lists. They’re also delivered the next day, directly to every household on the route.

L&B Printing does a lot of EDDM business, for realtors, restaurants, doctors, dentists, tradesmen like plumbers or electricians, and franchises serving a specific geographic area. “It’s a great program for the right businesses,” she said. L&B Printing can help the customer determine the best mail routes for their needs, and can provide graphics help as well as printing.
